The foreign policy of every democratic cannot but take into account the characteristics of culture of neighbouring countries when reaching decisions in foreign affairs, especially during times of crisis and wars.
It is no secret that countries have always been involved in active cross-cultural exchange though family, political and economic ties. In this way, every state advanced own language, culture, religion and so on.
It's a well-known fact that INGOs played and continue playing one of the major roles in building IR. There have been created hundreds of INGOs in the course of two past centuries aimed at providing a better international communication.
Sooner or later, but it is nearly every state that has to make a choice between own self-identity and collective values. The thing is, nowadays the world is strictly divided into certain political and economic zones that profess own cultural worthies.
The issue of 'cultural appropriation', where cultural elements are taken from the context of their society and reused in a new context, often as part of an academic or commodified 'product' is a phenomenon that happens more often than not.

Global cultures

To continue the topic of civilizations, let us turn our attention to the theme of 'global cultures'. As a matter of fact, this topic was widely discussed in previous closes, however, we'd like to devote this chapter to the main global cultures present in the world presently.

The most powerful and stable global culture of all the existing ones is Western one of course. It confesses the whole set of European values that are exported throughout the whole world. Nevertheless, Western civilization is somewhat out-of-date and seems to show all attributes of degradation. You should look at the Hollywood films at least!

From another side, there exists a newly-formed Asian-African contents showing all signs of aggression towards West. Most of representatives of that civilization are Muslims that despise Western culture in general and American one in particular. These states are often united under the so-called "axe of evil" that prove to be America's worst enemies. It is not only about being culturally hostile but also presenting a real military threat. The result of is a world-know Iraqi campaign that started five years ago.

One more global culture that has partially lost its power and distinctive character is former socialist camp led by Russia presently. Generally, these are mostly Slavonic countries with resembling political elites, rules and rituals. No surprise that this civilization continues to exist despite of Soviet Union collapse.

And the last multi-ethnic global culture is Latin America. It is a collection of former Spanish and Portuguese colonies that speak almost identical language and enjoy similar cultural values. It is on the path of fast economic growth and growing more and more independent of Western civilization headed by the USA.
