The Europe was in ruins and there wasn't much time to think about the culture. However, it is exactly the early post-war period that signifies the beginning of the "Cold War' that lasted for about 50 years and transformed culture into an effective political tool.

On the other hand, these fifty years are marked with advanced development of science in general and mass-media in particular. Promoting culture is not a problem nowadays due to all those technical inventions including Internet, newspapers, DVD films and even telephone.

What has changed in the sphere of culture after the WWII? And how does it shape our current events?

In IR in particular for example, the culture has finally become one of the attributes every politician is supposed to take into account. It is not only when inviting to an official lunch, having a small talk, etc, it is the influence when holding negotiations at the highest level for example or anticipating all possible negative that might appear during ceremonial meeting.
